Sennheiser HD 598
Pros
- Great sound reproduction
- Good soundstage and stereo imaging
- Compatible with most playback devices
Cons
- Some may not like the retro colors
- Weaker Bass Frequencies
Bottom Line
The Sennheiser HD 598’s offer a nice and wide soundstage and accurate sound reproduction, but the colour scheme may not be for everyone.
The Sennheiser HD 598 over-ear, open back headphones received positive reviews for their great overall sound reproduction, their great soundstage and their overall comfort. Their imaging is also said to be great and they offer a neutral frequency response too which users liked, suggesting it accentuates all the sounds across the frequency spectrum. Users did however find that they lacked bass, but this is subjective. Neutral headphones tend to not boost frequencies in order to offer clarity across the frequency spectrum. The Sennheiser HD 598 is a great performer for its price, offering awesome clarity at the expense of bass.

The new HD 598's "wow" styling updates the classic Sennheiser look, and the sound has more detail and higher resolution than previous models. We recommend these cans to anyone looking for a pair of headphones with precision sound quality and a wide-open soundstage.
