The AKG K240’s semi-open design offers you the best of both open-back and closed-back headphones designs, but it is better suited to quieter areas.
The AKG K240 open-back over-ear headphones have received positive reviews for its accurate audio representation, with users finding that the audio is well suited to critical listening applications. Users liked their lightweight design and found that they are relatively comfortable. However, some did find that they can get hot around the ears, which may in part be due to the faux leather material used. Others also noted that they do require quite a bit of power to drive loudly and that their open-back design does mean that they bleed a bit of audio. Lastly, some reported that plastic frame feels quite flimsy, so it may be prone to breakages later down the line. All in all, the AKG K240 over-ear open-back headphones drive an accurate representation of audio, but it does require quite a bit of power to drive thoroughly and it will leak quite a bit of audio.
