Gaming laptops are amazing pieces of technology, but they are lacking in one area – audio. A good gaming headset is almost a must have for anyone who has a gaming laptop and wants to play games on the road. If you are unsure, check out these four reasons to use a headset with your gaming laptop. I’m sure when you’ve finished, you will see why a good headset is important for a gaming laptop.
Improved Sound Quality
First and foremost, a good headset will give you much improved sound quality over the speakers of your gaming laptop. While your gaming laptop is larger than a standard laptop, there is still very little room inside for good speakers. On top of that, often the placement of the speakers can be a little funny. I’ve even seen laptop speakers on the bottom of the laptop. That doesn’t make for a good sound experience. With a headset, you can funnel all your sound into them for a much better listening experience whether you are watching videos, listening to music, or playing your favorite video game.
Better Sound Control
Sound control and tweaks are important, especially if you are an audiophile. While the controls on your computer are good, most high quality headsets will come with even more controls, both on the headsets themselves and also in the software that drives them. These controls will allow you to customize your audio experience the way you want it for a truly personalized experience while you are gaming, and who doesn’t want that?
Microphone for Online Gaming
Online gaming is more popular than it’s ever been today. Communication is often key to success in many of the team games you will find yourself in when playing online. That means you need to be able to talk to them. Most gaming headsets come equipped with a microphone so you can not only hear what’s going on, but also speak to your fellow players. This ability to talk can take your gaming match to all new levels, or you could just argue with your fellow players. We all know that happens a lot, too. Still, if you want to work as a team, being able to hear each other is key, and a good headset with a quality mic will help you bark out orders or acknowledge them, whatever your role.
Won’t Disturb People Around You
Now this one is the biggie, if you ask me. Yes, better sound and control and communication are great. But if you have a gaming laptop and you want to play games while you travel, that’s great. But I don’t want to hear it on a plane or even in the terminal. Your latest play session of COD is none of my business and I don’t want it to be my business. Plugging in a good headset will isolate the sound of your laptop while you listen or play or whatever, that way you don’t disturb any travelers around or anyone, for that matter, wherever you may be when you fire up your favorite game.
These are only a few reasons to use a good headset, and I’m sure you all can think of a few more. Do you use a headset with your gaming laptop? If so, what kind and why? Sound off in the comments below.
