Five Benefits of Wired Headphones

Wireless headphones are all the rage these days, and many of us have forgotten about wired headphones. However, in many cases, it’s tough to beat wired headphones, no matter what the media may say. Today we will look at five benefits of wired headphones and why you should consider them for your next headphone purchase instead of wireless headphones.

1. Better Sound Quality

Now I will admit that wireless headphones have made great strides in recent years on sound quality, but they still can’t match a good pair of wired headphones. Wireless signals still haven’t caught up with a good old fashioned wire when it comes to sound quality, and while they probably will one day, it just hasn’t happened yet. If you are looking for the best sound possible, you definitely need to go with a pair of headphones with a trusty wire attached to them.

2. No Battery Life Worries

If you enjoy using your headphones for long periods of time, you could be in trouble if you use wireless headphones. These devices are powered by very small batteries, and when you listen to music, you can chew through your juice much faster than you might think. When the battery dies, you are done, at least until you charge them. This problem just doesn’t exist with wired headphones, so you can listen as long as you want without having to worry about a things like battery charge.

3. More Options to Choose From

If you aren’t sure what kind of headphones you want, then you probably need to look at wired headphones. With wired headphones, you have all sorts of options, including earbuds, open back, closed back, over the ear, the list goes on and on. Wireless headphones are much more limiting, as the power requirements for some of the bigger options simply aren’t available. If you need choices or headphones for different listening options, wired headphones are tough to beat.

4. Better Compatibility

Now some may argue this point, as the latest iPhones don’t even have a headphone jack. But the fact is that overall you have more compatibility with wired headphones, whether you are using a smartphone, a stereo, MP3 player, or even a computer. Not everything comes with Bluetooth, even today. If you don’t have Bluetooth, you will find those wireless headphones quite useless. But that’s not the case with their wired counterparts. They will work on almost every device out there, even those latest iPhones with an adapter, of course.

5. Price

Now I know that some headphones can be quite expensive, but these are usually high end headphones designed for studio use or, at the very least, high quality audiophile listening. For most of us, standard headphone will do. When compare the prices of these headphones, you quickly realize that the wired headphones are much cheaper to buy. Just look at the Apple air buds. These wireless headphones are over triple the price of the average wired headphones. If price is no object, then maybe wireless is a good choice, but if you are shopping on a budget, pick up a pair of wired headphones. Your wallet will thank you.

Conclusion

As you can see, there are many great reasons to buy wired headphones. Sure, wireless headphones may get all the love these days, but that doesn’t mean that wired headphones aren’t every bit as good, and sometimes even better.
